2026 Hanpass × ISRK × VizaBridge Event

Think your only option after graduation is getting hired? Think again. During our recent joint event with Hanpass and Indian Students and Researchers in Korea (ISRK), we shared how international graduates can explore entrepreneurship, visa pathways, and long-term opportunities to build a future in Korea.

From Career Planning to Business Building

Most graduating foreign students already knew about the D-10 and E-7-1 visas. What many didn't know was that entrepreneurship is another viable pathway to building a future in Korea, and possibly an easier path for foreigners too!

Startup entrepreneurship is the new trend.

D-10-2 (Startup Preparation Visa)

Think of the D-10-2 visa as your runway to build something of your own.

Instead of spending months stressing over Korean-style resumes and interviews, you can use this time to validate your idea, build your prototype, and earn immigration points through the OASIS program. The visa is renewable every six months for up to two years. The best part? You can become your own boss and worry less about language and cultural differences in the tough Korean job market.

Important: You are only permitted to establish your corporation while on a D-10-2 visa.

D-8-4 (Technology Startup Visa)

Once you've incorporated your company, the D-8-4 visa is your next milestone.

Meeting OASIS point targets alone are not enough, but you're closer than you might think. To apply, you'll generally need documents such as your corporate registration, business registration certificate, proof of at least a bachelor's degree, and other supporting materials. This list is not exhaustive, and the required documents may vary depending on your individual circumstances and current immigration requirements.

Important: Your business must operate from a legitimate office or a private co-working space where business registration is permitted.

Pro-tip

Start exploring the OASIS program now, before applying for the D-10-2 visa. Completing OASIS modules early can strengthen your visa application and make your transition to a startup visa much smoother.
