What is the OASIS Program?

If you're a startup founder in Korea and haven't heard of OASIS yet, you're behind.

OASIS (Overall Assistance for Startup Immigration System)

This is a government-backed program in Korea. It supports foreign founders through education, mentoring, and incubation.

Who is it for?

Foreign entrepreneurs with a technology-based or trade-based business idea.

When can you start OASIS and which visa?

You can join OASIS classes while on a Startup Preparation Visa (D-10-2). Some people also apply for OASIS-1 or OASIS-4 while on another resident visa, to first get a taste of what a startup involves. Acceptance into the program are on case-by-case basis.

There are 9 Levels to OASIS

  • 🧩 OASIS 1–2: IP basics → understanding Korean society, immigration law, and intellectual property fundamentals
  • 💡 OASIS 3: Idea development → refining and validating your invention/business idea
  • 🚀 OASIS 4: Startup foundations → the core "basic startup class"
  • 🤝 OASIS 5: Mentoring & coaching → 1:1 guidance from industry experts
  • 🏛️ OASIS 6: Exhibitions → showcasing your startup
  • 🏢 OASIS 7: Incubation → dedicated space to build once you're 6 months in
  • 📄 OASIS 8: Corporation setup → registration support for your D-8-4 application
  • 💰 OASIS 9: Commercialization → funding support for R&D and launch

Do you have to take them in order?

Not strictly. Most founders start with OASIS-1 (IP track) or OASIS-4 (startup track). These are the two main entry points into the program.
